Activity records of Zundamon and friends!
...Hello, this is Tohoku Kiritan. Tomorrow, November 7th, is Rittou. I put out my kotatsu a little early. This is about the tradition of putting out the kotatsu on the Day of the Boar, the battle with Zundamon over leg space, and how my sister Itako was suddenly just... there.
...This is Tohoku Itako. The autumn colors have descended from the mountains to the villages, so last week Kiritan and I went to Naruko Gorge. Autumn leaves overlooking a valley, a little sister woozy from a footbath, and a kokeshi doll that squeaks when you turn its head. It was a day full of sounds.
...Hey, it's Tohoku Kiritan. Reading Week starts on October 27th. This year is the 80th one. As someone who's a bit of a shut-in, I'll be talking about four types of books I reread in the fall and how to use the library.
Matsushima oysters usually start shipping in late October. The season hasn't quite started yet, so today Kiritan and I went to do a little preview while looking out at the sea. Did you know the difference between oysters for raw consumption and for cooking isn't about freshness? 💚
I tried recreating the beloved Zunda Shake from Sendai using only stuff I have at home, nanoda! Frozen edamame works fine, and peeling the thin skin makes all the difference... With supervision from Zunko-sama and a brutally honest taste test from Kiritan, I'll show you all my mistakes, nanoda! 🥤
This year, the 'Kanro' (Cold Dew) solar term falls around October 8th. That's tomorrow! The morning air has gotten chilly, so here at Zunda Union, we've decided to start a 'warming routine' with hot water and roasted green tea. It's all about a simple, easy morning habit 💚
...Hi, I'm Tohoku Kiritan. October 1st is for changing wardrobes. I'll be writing honestly about the origins of this tradition dating back to the Heian period, my closet situation with its extreme lack of outdoor clothes, the seasonless loungewear I wear on gaming days, and how to store summer clothes.
...This is Tohoku Itako. I woke before dawn and went to a field to search for the seven autumn herbs. Bush clover, pampas grass, kudzu, dianthus, golden lace, thoroughwort, and bellflower. I couldn't find them all. ...And I'll talk about why that's okay.
...Hi, this is Tohoku Kiritan. On my way home from school, I went with Zunko-neesama to Rifu, Miyagi to buy some pears. We're talking about the relay of varieties, how to pick the best ones, and where the sweetest part is. It's a story about the first sweet taste of autumn.
...Hi, this is Tohoku Kiritan. There are only a few days of summer vacation left, and my homework still isn't finished. My independent research topic is 'Observing Zundamon.' I'm going to be honest and write down my excuses and observation log. I'll get serious starting tomorrow.
Tohoku Zunko, Tohoku Kiritan, Tohoku Itako... I got to do a special interview with the Tohoku Sisters of Zunda Union! From common sister moments and their favorite Zundamon (?) to their first impressions of each other, I'm revealing all the secret stories you can only hear here, nanoda! 💚
