Tomorrow is finally October 31st, Halloween, nanoda🎃
We at Zunda Union got all dressed up in costumes again this year, nanoda.
Actually… for the past month or so, Metan has been going around asking everyone, “How’s your costume coming along?” nanoda.
It’s scary, nanoda.
But thanks to her, everyone’s costumes were finished by the day before, nanoda!
Today, I’m going to show them all to you, one by one~!
🎃 ① Zundamon: A Pumpkin Witch, nanoda
First up is me, nanoda!
This year, I’m a pumpkin witch, nanoda.
I’ve got an orange pointy hat and a green cape. And a pumpkin lantern in my hand.
The top of my hat is so heavy that it wobbles every time I walk, which is a bit of a problem, nanoda.
But when I twirled in front of the mirror, my cape fanned out all fluffy and…
I’m a genius at being cute, nanoda. I’ll say it myself, nanoda.
🏹 ② Tohoku Zunko: A Miko-Style Sorceress
Zunko-sama is a miko-style sorceress, nanoda.
She’s wearing a white and vermilion outfit and holding her Zunda Arrow like a staff, nanoda.
It’s a mix of Japanese and Western styles, but it doesn’t look out of place at all, nanoda…
Zunko-sama: “It’s a bow, not a staff, you know. But oh well, let’s not sweat the details, shall we?”
It suits her so well, I can’t even tell if it’s a costume anymore, nanoda.
⚔️ ③ Tohoku Kiritan: The Swordswoman Zombie
Kiritan is a swordswoman zombie, nanoda.
She’s got a tattered training uniform, pale makeup, and her arms are covered in bandages.
And in her hand, she’s holding a wooden sword shaped like a kiritanpo, nanoda.
Me: “Kiritan, you’ve got the Kiritan Cannon, so why a swordswoman, nanoda?”
Kiritan: “A zombie that fires miso isn’t even horror anymore, don’t you think?”
Kiritan: “Besides, zombies are slow, right? But swordswomen are fast. So, I’m a fast zombie.”
Me: “Your logic is flawless, nanoda…”
Apparently, she spent three days researching how to walk like one, nanoda. In between gaming sessions.
🔮 ④ Tohoku Itako: Suspected of Not Needing a Costume
And then there’s Itako-neesan, nanoda.
She appeared quietly in her usual outfit, nanoda.
Me: “Itako-neesan, aren’t you in costume yet, nanoda?”
Itako-neesan: “…I already am.”
Me: “Huh?”
Metan: “She’s a professional wearing her professional attire. Could there be a better costume?”
Now that she mentions it, that’s true, nanoda.
Neesan just gave a little smile without saying anything, nanoda.
…It’s scary, nanoda. And cool, nanoda.
🦇 ⑤ Shikoku Metan: The Vampire
Metan is a vampire, nanoda.
A black dress and a crimson cape. Her every move is so elegant, nanoda.
Metan: “The color scheme and my movements are all calculated. The most photogenic angle is 37 degrees.”
Me: “You’re even efficient with your costume, nanoda!?”
But, when I dropped my hat, Metan was the first one to pick it up for me, nanoda💚
🐈 ⑥ Ankomon: The Black Cat
Ankomon is a black cat, nanoda.
She has a black hood, cat ears (worn over her azuki pod ears), and a long tail.
Me: “So cute, nanoda!”
Ankomon: “I-it’s not like I made it to show you, Zundamon-mon.”
Me: “I didn’t ask anything, nanoda.”
Ankomon: “…Mon.”
There’s a wire inside her tail so she can make it sway back and forth, nanoda. The craftsmanship is amazing, nanoda.
🤖 ⑦ Deltamon: A Maid Robot… Or Just Herself?
Deltamon showed up in her usual apron, nanoda.
Me: “Deltamon, those are your everyday clothes, nanoda!”
Deltamon: “No! Please look closely. The apron strings are tied in a bat-shaped bow, you see!”
…It was true, nanoda.
The knot was tied in the shape of a tiny bat, nanoda.
It’s way too subtle, nanoda. But that’s what I like about Deltamon, nanoda.
🥒 ⑧ Kyuurin: The Pickled Mummy
Kyuurin is a pickled mummy, nanoda.
He’s wrapped in bandages from head to toe, with a little bit of green peeking through the gaps, nanoda.
Since he’s already green and round, wrapping him in bandages makes him look just like a jar of pickles, nanoda.
Kyuurin doesn’t speak, so he drew this for us in his sketchbook, nanoda.

It gets the point across perfectly, nanoda. He’s a genius, nanoda🥒
💀 ⑨ Zundadon: The Tropical Skeleton
Last up is Zundadon, nanoda.
He’s wearing black clothes with white bones painted on them, and a lei of tropical flowers on his head.
Zundadon: “In the southern countries, they have festivals where they dance with their ancestors, don. So skeletons aren’t something to be scared of, don.”
Zundadon: “…And with that, let’s dance, don!”
Even though it was Halloween, he started doing a samba-like dance, and everyone got pulled into it, nanoda.
Anything goes, nanoda. As long as it’s fun, it’s all good, nanoda!
🍬 Trick or Treat, nanoda!
Once everyone was in costume, it was time to hand out candy, nanoda.
What we prepared was, of course…
Bite-sized zunda mochi, nanoda🍡
We put them in little pumpkin-shaped boxes and wrapped each one individually, nanoda.
Me: “Trick or treat! Give me something sweet or I’ll play a trick on you, nanoda!”
Metan: “Here, have some zunda mochi.”
Me: “Oh, thank you, nanoda… wait a minute! Wasn’t I supposed to be the one giving them out!?”
I got completely confused halfway through, and in the end, it turned into an event where everyone just gave candy to each other, nanoda.
It was very peaceful, nanoda.
🎂 To Finish: Deltamon’s Halloween Cake
We finished the night with a Halloween cake that Deltamon baked for us, nanoda.
It was an orange sponge cake made with pumpkin paste, with a spider web pattern drawn in purple cream.
And on top, there was a single bat made of sugar candy.
Deltamon: “This is the full power of a cake artisan who works for 44 yen an hour!”
Kiritan: “You bring up your hourly wage every single time, don’t you.”
We blew out the candles and ate the cake by the light of the lanterns…
It was sweet, and warm, and tasted just a little bit magical, nanoda.
I think it’s because it was mixed with everyone’s laughter, nanoda💚
💚 Summary, nanoda!
So that’s what our Halloween was like this year, nanoda!
- Zundamon = Pumpkin Witch, Zunko-sama = Miko-Style Sorceress, Kiritan = Swordswoman Zombie
- Itako-neesan didn’t need a costume because she’s a pro, Metan = Vampire, Ankomon = Black Cat
- Deltamon = Bat Bow, Kyuurin = Pickled Mummy, Zundadon = Tropical Skeleton
- The treat was bite-sized zunda mochi. We all ended up trading them with each other, nanoda
- We finished with Deltamon’s special Halloween cake, nanoda
